Let me introduce myself

Tiny Cutlery is a publishing studio in Manhattan founded by me, Emily Conklin. The studio publishes poetry, photography, and arts of all kinds for creators that resist genre. But as a veteran of the design media scene in New York, I wanted to create a place for the Tiny Cutlery community to come together and share new kinds of stories—stories that reactivate our love for writing and reading, without the pressures of the news cycle or the cult of the novel product machine.

Starters is this place: a biweekly newsletter that platforms a new writer every other Friday. These writers share untraditional spatial narratives in short form that have something to say about the designed world around us. I hope you’ll follow along with us and subscribe to read their words and access our entire publication archive.
